Approval is all about perception. Perception of one's approval layer, of the depth of knowledge needed to be shown in order to obtain that indistinguishable face that basically means «OK, I see you're worth my time, here's your free "you're allowed to say anything you want that I will trust you" card».
Failure to recognize this small - yet crucial - detail may end up in some serious fucked up something that I cannot still quite define right now. But it will cause you problems all right.

I only disagree in that i dont think "knowledge" is necessarilly the key to approval by others.
Approval is earned by proving a higher or at least equal value to the person whose going to approve us, not necessarilly by showing knowledge.
